About the CBF
About the CBF The Community Broadcasting Foundation is an independent non-profit funding agency that solicits and distributes funds for the maintenance and development of community broadcasting in Australia including specialist services for Ethnic, Indigenous and Radio for the Print Handicapped audiences.
| Board of Directors The Board of Directors is responsible for the governance, operation and strategic development of the Foundation.
| CBF Privacy Statement The Community Broadcasting Foundation respects and upholds your rights to privacy protection under the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1998 as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
| Complaints Process The Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF) is an independent non-profit funding agency. Our purpose is to solicit and to disburse funds for the development of the community broadcasting sector in an ethical and transparent manner. Like the sector it serves the CBF is largely volunteer driven.
| Current CBF Tenders There are currently no tenders being sought by the CBF.
| Grants Advisory Committees The CBF Board of Directors is advised by a number of volunteer committees that make grant recommendations and provide expert advice.
| Project Advisory Committees CBF Project Advisory Committees monitor the ongoing conduct of CBF projects and provide policy and specialist advice in particular areas.
| Secretariat The CBF Secretariat, based in Melbourne, runs the day-to-day operations of the Foundation. CBF staff administer the grant funding process and liaise with an extensive range of agencies and stakeholders, including government, peak community broadcasting sector organisations, stations and broadcasters.
| Support for Reconciliation The Community Broadcasting Foundation supports the Australian Declaration Towards Reconciliation.
The Foundation further supports the National Strategies to Advance Reconciliation, as proposed by the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation, and the work of Reconciliation Australia.
In particular, the Foundation urges all community broadcasting organisations to publicly support and promote the ongoing reconciliation process, and to increasingly involve Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders in their work.

| Who funds the CBF? The CBF is supported by the Australian Government through the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts (DCITA).
