2009/10 Budget Outcomes for Indigenous and Community Broadcasting Tuesday's Federal Budget announced that the funding allocation in 2009/10 for the Community Broadcasting Program is just over $16 million, the highest level of support the sector has ever received.
Funds for Community Radio to go Digital Funds to assist metropolitan community radio stations to establish the infrastructure to expand their services into digital transmission have been confirmed in Tuesday's Federal Budget.
National Training Project funded for four more years Funds totalling $2.5 million over four years were announced by the Government in Tuesday's Budget to extend the sector's National Training Project which provides broadcast and management training to community broadcasters.
Still no funds for Community TV to go Digital The Community Television (CTV) sector did not receive an expected commitment for funds to assist in the transition to digital transmission in Tuesday night's Budget. CTV have been promised equitable access to digital spectrum, but funds to make it happen have not yet been forthcoming.
