Digital Delivery Network (DDN) Grants

Digital Delivery Network (DDN) Infrastructure Grants
The Digital Delivery Network (DDN) uses a data stream linked to the Community Radio Network satellite channel to deliver data directly to station-based computer equipment via the station's satellite receiver.

Ethnic Grants

Ethnic Program Grants
Funds are available to assist with production costs for Ethnic programs that are relevant to a defined local Ethnic community and are broadcast on a regular basis, such as weekly or every second week.

Ethnic Development Grants - New Program Group
Funds are available to encourage new language/cultural groups to become involved in community broadcasting and to assist with start-up costs for new programs.

Ethnic Development Grants - Youth Participation
Funds are available to increase the participation of Ethnic young people in local ethnic community broadcasting. The grants assist with the maintenance and development of Ethnic community broadcasting throughout Australia.

Ethnic Development Grants - Special Projects
Funds are available to support innovative projects within Ethnic community broadcasting with national or regional impact.

General Grants

General Grants - Licensed Station
Funds are available to assist with establishment costs for new long-term licensed stations and sustaining funds for operation and development of long-term licensed stations.

General Grants - Program Production
Funds are available to encourage and support the production of quality community radio programs.

General Grants - Sustainability and Development
Funds are available to develop the sustainability of the community broadcasting sector through capacity building projects such as innovative projects outside the scope of the other General Grant categories.

General Grants - Mentoring Program
This category is currently under review.

Indigeneous Grants

Indigenous Program Grants
Funds are available to assist with program production costs for regular (weekly) Indigenous programs that are broadcast on a community radio station and/or community radio network.

Indigenous Equipment Grants
Funds are available to assist with establishing or upgrading Indigenous community radio production and/or broadcasting facilities. The grants assist with the maintenance and development of Indigenous community broadcasting throughout Australia.

Indigenous Special Projects Grants
Funds are available to support special one-off Indigenous radio programs (rather than regular programs) or radio program resource projects for regional or national use. The grants assist with the maintenance and development of Indigenous community broadcasting throughout Australia.

RPH Grants

RPH Service Support Grants
Funds are available to support dedicated Radio for the Print Handicapped (RPH) community broadcasting services for the benefit of people with a print disability.

RPH Program Grants
Funds are available to provide support to licensed community radio stations producing weekly Radio for the Print Handicapped (RPH) programs for the benefit of people with a print disability.

Satellite Grants

Satellite Reception Equipment Grants
Funds are available for community radio stations to purchase satellite reception equipment to access the community broadcasting satellite program distribution channels: the Community Radio Network, National Indigenous Radio Service (NIRS) and RPH Australia service.

Training Grants

Training Grants - Broadcast Training
Funds are available to assist licensed community radio stations to provide accredited broadcast skills training for broadcasters, staff and volunteers, ensuring long term benefit to the station.

Training Grants - Pilot Training Projects
Funds are available to develop and test models for innovative and effective delivery of broadcast and management training (operations and governance) within the sector.

Transmission Grants

Transmission Support Grants - Equipment
Funds are available to help community radio stations purchase necessary transmission equipment.

Transmission Support Grants - Operational Subsidy
Funds are available to subsidise community radio stations for transmission operational costs.

Transmission Support Grants - Special Projects
Funds are available to provide support for:
projects and local partnerships that aim to increase the sustainability and self-sufficiency of community radio transmission infrastructure; and the development and trial of innovative solutions to community radio transmission issues, including the use of new technologies.


Grant Reporting

Grant Reporting Requirements
The grant reporting process is about responsibly accounting for the public funding your organisation has received as a CBF grant. All organisations who receive any CBF funding have to complete this process.
