Connecting communities

The Community Broadcasting Foundation resources community-owned and operated media to tell vital, local stories so that we have a vibrant Australian culture and a strong democracy.

With CBF grant support, 2MFM in Bankstown, NSW developed an existing Community Connect program through the production of significant community events such as educational forums, government and community workshops, religious and social festivals and concerts.

Grant funds helped the program grow its audience through marketing and social media promotion and assisted with the post-production of audio content for distribution on a wider variety of media platforms.

During the funded period this program included over 50 interviews responding to the social, cultural and educational needs of the diverse Sydney community including specials for White Ribbon Day, Lung Awareness Month, National Recycling Week, Science Awareness Week, Food Safety Week, Hearing Awareness Week and Australia Day celebrations.
