The future is looking bright for community radio in Broken Hill

2DryFM is Broken Hill’s only community radio station, having started in 1989 which makes it the longest running FM station in Far West NSW.

Currently a group of about 16 volunteers are working at the station, some of them creating on air content. Through the CBF’s Transmission Support - Equipment grant program 2DryFM was able to purchase a new transmitter. With the new transmitter installed the station is now able to cover the Broken Hill area with a reliable signal which helped them to gain extra listeners, local sponsors & DJ’s.

“This was an exciting milestone in our history as our old transmitter was on its last leg and coverage around town not ideal.  The future is looking bright for community radio in Broken Hill thanks to the CBF coming to the rescue.”

- Station president Patrick Kreiner
