CBF funds kick-started 'Youth Matters' at ONE FM Shepparton Radio, a project that aimed to engage young people in the local area and skill them up so they could present regular programs.

36 young people applied to participate in the program and 12 people undertook presenter training, receiving a certificate of completion after three weekends and one very-fun 'PJ Party' at the station to let their hair down!

The young presenters covered issues that resonated with people their own age, as well as with parents and older listeners, such as drugs, social media, depression and youth suicide. All feedback was glowing and two of the participants plan to pursue careers in journalism in the future.

The CBF funds helped ONE FM to develop relevant resource materials for the short course, promote the opportunity in the local area, project manage the activity and purchase some portable recorders for the station,
